Hi, I’m Kay. I’m an emerging artist from rural Queensland, Australia. As a fresh highschool graduate I deep dived into a business degree at Queensland University of Technology and face planted. I was a circle in a square hole. After accepting defeat I wandered through life with no direction until I enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts at Central Queensland University. There I was given the fundamentals, encouragement, drive and compassion to pursue my dream of sharing creative works with the world through my unique lens.

When I was a child, my mother was diagnosed with an autoimmune neuromuscular disease which halted her in her tracks. This left her in an electric wheelchair and my father becoming her full-time carer. We did not have much to begin with. A small caravan, a car battery to power a 30cm black and white television and a compost toilet. Life was an adventure from a young age which all contributed to the stories I want to share. Through my work, it is my wish to give a piece of my heart, a little reminder to you that life is beautiful no matter what your circumstances are, you’ll get through.
